1. This is one of our favorites and the go-to for any special occasion. Our daughter is 10 and generally a good eater so thankfully not limited to chicken and chips! However, if that's what she wants, that's what she can get here.
Bay has a really interesting menu regardless of dietary requirements but clearly mark all foods as to whether they're compatible with special diets (and include calorie counts).
They have a great understanding of food and the staff is well informed. I'd always mention coeliac requirements at the time of booking anywhere but even if you mention it at the time of ordering they're informed and responsive. They are always willing to adapt any dishes too - they're not precious about their offerings. And yes, there are coeliac chips!
It's pretty good value and it's a lovely setting right by the sea on the Clontarf Road by the wooden bridge so you can stroll up an appetite or do some damage limitation afterward!
They have a sister restaurant a few doors along which is also delicious and similarly informed. and specializes in seafood so if Bay is fully booked, wander down to Fishbone!
2.The Bay Restaurant Clontarf. The really great indicator on the menu, they use C for coeliac safe symbol and the staff are very clued in.
