Has anyone experienced a very negative reaction from
family members to someone who has become gluten intolerant? I am elderly and have developed a gluten intolerance at 70 years of age. I have spoken to my doctor and am managing my diet myself but am encountering very negative reactions from my husband. I find that sharing the family kitchen is very stressful and is a source of arguments. My attempts to educate my husband about possible contamination of pots, implements and dishcloths keep failing. I am being forced to operate in a small utility room and keep my gluten free resources, foods, utensils ect there. Has anyone experienced this?I felt like that 35 years ago then I made the household completely gluten free , it’s better that way so you don’t have to worry about cross contamination? Hope this helps

I think my husband is finding it extremely difficult because we’re both 70 now and after 45 years of marriage, I am now unable to share family meals and he has to cook for himself much more than before. I did suggest that we turn the main kitchen into a gluten free kitchen after reading about how other families deal with this but the response was very negative indeed
